Virtual Private Server

A virtual private server (VPS) is essentially a computer running on a hosted server, which you can access directly through your PC's or laptop's internet connection. A VPS performs and executes just like a stand-alone computer. You can upload your Expert Advisors and your broker's MetaTrader platform to a VPS, and run them exactly like you would on your own computer. By using a VPS, there are these major advantages: (1) you do not need to keep your own computer on all the time, and (2) you do not need to rely on your internet or power connection in order for the VPS to keep running. A good VPS host like TradingFXVPS has an uptime of 100%.

If you lose your internet connection at home (a frequent occurence for many people), your EA may fail to make a trade or your EA may be in the middle of a trade and not properly close it out. In either case, this could be very costly. A reliable VPS provider solves this problem and is a must for any serious trader who intends to run EAs. When dealing with your EAs, don't be "penny-wise, pound-foolish."

In deciding which VPS provider to use, consider whether it:

  • Provides a reliable service that does not go down during the weekday.

  • Provides a total uptime of 100%.

  • Provides low latency.

  • Applies any service packs only on the weekends.

  • Provides a Windows server that does not terminate the user session when the user disconnects from the VPS.

  • Provides a cost effective solution.

  • Provides full security and privacy.

We considered these factors, and we use TradingFXVPS for our live and demo accounts. Our decision was a good one and we have been very pleased with TradingFXVPS's services.
